Jointly responsible for work package 3
The aim of Ann-Kathrin Kößler's research is to better understand human behaviour in a socio-ecological and economic context. She is particularly interested in the question of how pro-social and environmentally friendly behaviour can be motivated and strengthened and which political measures are suitable for this. She is currently focusing on the question of how participation, self-commitment and empathy affect the associated prosocial and environmentally-oriented behaviour. Methodically, she works conceptually as well as with economic experiments (laboratory and field experiments). Since November 2018 she has been an IPBES Fellow and contributes to the report "Assessment of Diverse Values of Nature". She is also a Visting Fellow in the Department of Geography and Environment at the London School of Economics.
