Martin Franz has been Professor of Human Geography with a focus on Economic Geography at Osnabrück University since 2014.
His research focuses on the effects of major social and economic changes, in particular economic structural change, digitization, globalization processes and the transition to sustainability and the resulting reactions from those affected, companies and institutions. He is particularly interested in how different groups of actors try to influence social and economic changes and how they - or their activities - adapt to these processes.
In 2019 Martin Franz travelled to Ghana together with Cord Budde (CEO of Weinrich Chocolate). There they visited the Kuapa Kokoo cooperative and some of the associated growing areas.
He is the project coordinator and accompanied the entire process from the project idea to funding by the DBU.
In addition to his numerous tasks, he is responsible for Jana Rülke's doctorate as part of this project.
